Kelly Engelbrecht, MSW, APSW
Kelly Engelbrecht is a psychotherapist with a particular passion for working with women navigating midlife and the many changes that can come with it. Whether you’re questioning what you want next, adjusting to changing relationships or family roles, feeling overwhelmed by the demands of work and home, or simply feeling less like yourself, Kelly offers a warm, supportive space to slow down, gain clarity, and reconnect with what matters to you.
Kelly also works with adults, couples, families, and adolescents ages 16 and older experiencing relationship challenges, anxiety, life transitions, parenting concerns, family conflict, and periods of feeling overwhelmed or stuck. She has a special interest in the complexity of modern relationships and family life, including blended and non-traditional families, divorce and co parenting, parent-child relationships, and changing family roles.
Her approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), family systems, person-centered therapy, and other evidence informed approaches, Kelly helps clients better understand the patterns influencing their lives and relationships while making changes that feel authentic, practical, and sustainable.
Kelly brings warmth, curiosity, authenticity, and humor into the therapy room and believes therapy doesn’t have to feel overly clinical or intimidating.
EDUCATION
Kelly earned both her Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is an Advanced Practice Social Worker (APSW) in the State of Wisconsin and participates in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.
EXPERIENCE
Kelly brings more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, social services, and healthcare settings. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals and families through complex life circumstances, supervised and mentored professionals, and helped people navigate periods of significant change.
Her professional and life experiences inform a therapeutic approach that is compassionate, practical, and grounded in an understanding that life is complicated—and meaningful change looks different for everyone.
